Stevie Cee...born June 16th,the 4th of 5 children. Stevie was raised in a home with older sisters and an older brother so the 50's/60's, Rock'n'Roll music was a big influence. You can hear that influence in the songs that Stevie writes.
Stevie was on the stage at a young age, performing in Minstrel shows directed by his Dad. At the age of 10 he would play his trumpet and perform Louis Armstrong numbers on the shows. Stevie also performed on the Youth Calvalcade TV Show, Channel 6 when he was 12. Stevie detoured from music for a bit when at 16 he married his high school sweetheart and they concentrated on raising their family. At 19 he tried to form a Rock'n'Roll band with some local musicians, but no one seemed as serious as Stevie so it fell by the wayside. In 1997 Stevie was encouraged, by a friend, to compete in the Down East Country Music Association annual country competition. He won the Modern Male Entertainer category that year, competing against 16 other male entertainers. Since winning that first competition Stevie has won many state, regional & national awards, including the "Dick Curless Memorial" Award, given to an individual who has taken their music outside the state of Maine and done so with integrity. Stevie has also won several Horizon Awards and Most Promising Awards, vocal, songwriting & comedy awards.
Stevie sat down to pen his very first song in 1998...What Do You See In Me an anniversary song he wrote for his wife. That song won him state and national awards and was also a cut on his very first country album, Storm In Search of Thunder. He has since finished three more country albums, Spin The Bottle Lucky In Love and Love & Laughter and has finished his first ever gospel album, I Heard My Father's Voice Most of the songs from all of these albums were penned by Stevie or his wife Deb. Stevie's music is being heard on independent radio stations in the U.S. (Texas, New Mexico, New Jersey & Maine to name a few) as well as European Radio(Belgium,Denmark,Germany, Sweden, Spain, Holland, Italy, France, Austria, Japan & England, along with Australia & New Zealand) In 2000, 2002 & 2003 Stevie had the privilege of touring Europe, visiting some of those great countries playing his music. September 2003 Stevie attended Telstra Mildura Country Music Festival in Australia. Stevie has been invited to perform in Nashville at the Nashville Palace, on the Nashville Video Showcase TV Show,on Music City Review and at the Louis Mandrell Theatre Stage in Pigeon Forge, TN. Stevie also did a small tour in Phoenix&Yuma Arizona in 2005 and 2006.
It has been a whirlwind but glories 11 years since he first competed for Down East Country Music Association. Stevie has performed on "Musicians of Maine" TV-11 in his home state of Maine, covering over 200,000 households. Stevie has also appeared on WGAN Channel 13, one of Maine's 3 largest TV Stations. Amy Sinclair did a fantastic story on him.
Some favorite past-times when not singing are fishing and camping and he also likes to golf. When asked who he'd love to sing a duet with, Stevie says, "I would love to sing a duet with Dolly Parton.(no, not for the reason you're thinking) After watching her host an award show one time I realized what a great sense of humor she has and anyone who's seen me live knows I love comedy! I've always loved her music too and the story of her humble beginnings, she's a great lady! I would also like to be on stage with Mark Chesnutt,"I've seen him perform and I love his energy on stage and his down home country style". "Course", Stevie goes on to say, "I think it would be rockin' to do something with Toby Keith too, I like Toby's style".
"I don't know what lies around the bend, but I am thankful for the opportunity I've had to share my talent with others. I'm thankful for all the experiences and the friends I have made since that first audition with Down East Country Music Assoc., all over this world. I'm thankful for the opportunities that singing country music afford me. I just want to keep singing and performing for as long as I can. I love people, to make them feel with my music is a great feeling to me."
