Christmas For Families 2007
Christmas For Families 2007
WOW..I thought last years Christmas For Families was HUGE, but 2007 was one for the record books! The American Legion Hall in Trenton was packed, standing room only and the spirit of giving was overwhelming! The show began with Brian Wardwell performing the National Anthem, followed by Bill DaButler from WNSX@97.7 performing a song in memory of dj Billy Charles. After which Bill presented this years "Billy Charles Memorial Award" to none other than our very own Father Christmas himself, dj Tommy Dean. I have never seen Tommy at a loss for words, but he was stunned and very grateful for the honor. We moved on to showing the new "Christmas For Families" music video, song written by Rhonnie Scheureman/Andrew Dean and performed by Andrew. After the showing we auctioned off 7 of the videos, the folks truly enjoyed this. Tommy now introduced the Emcee for the day Mr. Stevie Cee, and Stevie opened with a rousing chorus of Jingle Bell Rock. Next up on the afternoon schedule was Doc Morrill and his Down Home Country Band, they were very enjoyable as always, followed by a performance of our guest from Orlando Florida, the "Peppermint Kid" aka Mr. Richard Draime. Richard was received warmly by the entire audience and did a fine job in his rhinestone outfit. Richard was followed by Maine's phenom 13 year old Brian Wardwell. November 18th was actually Brians' 13th birthday and we surprised him with a cake and gifts after his performance. There was so much fun throughout the afternoon, auctions and more musical performances by The Higgins Family, Gary Mitchell the "Downeast Gentleman", Doc and the band played, with Richard doing a second performance later in the day. For the finale of the day we performed our usual "Jingle Bells" with dj Tommy Dean leading the way....what a fantastic show and time was had by all who attended. Folks you gotta join us one of these years, things are getting bigger and better every year. This years event raised $8,500 dollars, that combined with the earlier show in March gives a combined total for Christmas for Families 2007 of $12,800!!!!! Way to go everyone!! There will certainly be some very happy families, children and elderly this Christmas season.

Thank You Tommy Dean for your great organizational skills, and I believe that another BIG THANK YOU should be given to Tommy's wife Agnes, who though she stays behind the scenes, is a HUGE part of the success we see with this event. Thank you Stevie Cee, you did a great job Emcee'ing and performing; thank you Dee, who came with her camera and print port. Dee took photos of folks that day, printed them out a copy of the photo for them to take home for a small fee of $3, which was donated to the cause.

THANK YOU FANS for all your support too, without you, we'd have nothing. May your holidays be filled with peace, love and happiness and may the new year be blessed beyond belief! Enjoy the photos below of this wonderful event, these are just a few of the 400 that were taken................
